From grass to grace

Yes,that's how the story goes, from grass to grace that's how far I have come of. i remember when I was just a ten year old kid, i was already on the street hawking for the family upkeep, i just got admitted to Igbobi College and my dad was out of job, though he never told us, but we were told by our mum.

Things were quite rough for the family, my sisters and my brother had to stay home for some years before they could continue their schooling, though i was in secondary school, i was also in the market place after school hours carrying loads with my backs to get money. Now those moments are gone, i had a dream of becoming someone in this country of mine, Nigeria. The nation has been soiled by our leaders, things seem not to be in place. The masses are really suffering while the big men embezzle the nation's fund and head straight for Swiss banks. It is really heart provoken.

I eventually made it to the polytechnic where i studied accounting, though i develop interest in poetry and keep an anthology, i have come to see life from my writings and look back at those moments when i thought i will never go to school again after so many years. The educational system of the country is bad, those who are brilliant rot away at home while the son and daughters of the rich always make the first place in our tertiary institutions.

To be contd...
